fondness makes the heart grow absent: 2013

I was just going to put this in the CBOX but I was afraid people wouldn't get a chance to see it. I want your opinion regarding the "In an attempt to" post I keep bumping to the top. I still really like the idea of it, and it got/gets a lot of responses... but I feel like there are maybe too many responses now and people might not take the time to go through them all, and how do you decide what to check out when there are so many choices?

I still get submissions in my e-mail, but I feel like it might even be a little weird to select from those and post them... when I have all the self-submissions to the blog. Not to mention... as much as I love sharing artists and music that I love, I feel a little bit like it's unfair. Maybe my biggest problem is that I wish I could get to ALL OF IT... and then maybe I'd feel it was a tad less unfair. Yes, perhaps this is a personal issue (haha).

Over the last couple of days, people have been chatting in the cbox about a particular band that was found through the "In an attempt to" post, and I like seeing this kind of sharing going on. I think it's really cool, and it just goes to show that this is how people can discover something. I just wish there was a way to give everyone a good little shot of exposure, however modest this blog may be.

I'm sorry. I'm ranting. SO, what I wanted to ask you (whoever might be reading this) is what do you think? Was it a good/bad idea? Should I go back to just checking out e-mail submissions? Should I create a new post, sort of like a part 2, just to spread things out a bit (still keeping the old post right there with it, of course)? Should I let people re-submit? Should I do some sort of feature that focuses on a specific selection of bands/artists? Does anyone have a better or a different idea? Suggestions are welcome. I'm just wondering what you think about the whole thing. That's all :)
